What
is it?: The ROM/FX unit is a real time
voice amplifier and voice changer with 8 random automatic static burst
effects. It has an adjustable level gain which allows you to set the volume
at which you need to speak into the microphone so that the microphone
and amplifier are not constantly on. This helps reduce feedback and stops
the amplifier from accidental triggering if you cough or breath too heavily
into the microphone. There
are also time and delay settings which let you adjust how long you have
to talk for before the auto static bursts kick in and how long after you
stop talking before they play. It can be easily mounted anywhere on your
body or within the helmet of your costume.

A
brief history: After over a year of developing
during 2002 and 2003, the ROM/FX Sound Board was born. It's a completely
custom made board with code written specifically for the project, meaning
it has been designed from scratch to my exact specifications.
It's taken a lot to get here, six years (since 1999) of different stock (off the shelf) amps, but I am 100% happy with the results, and I am pleased to say the members from the 501st and UK Garrison who have received their boards are happy too. 31st July 2005: Today I received the best accessory for my TK armor, your ROM/FX Pro. I eagerly installed it and have to say that it 'ROCKS'. This is by far the best voice amplifier in the market. Ok so I'm a bit late but I finally got round to whacking some batteries into my ROM/FX from TK256 tonight and.......Wow!! Spot on in my opinion. It's clear! it's loud! and the FX are brilliant. Sorry it's late TK256 but you've excelled yourself this time matey!! Fantastic stuff and I can't wait to road test it at Memorabilia. Just to let you know, I got my soundboard safe and sound. I've tried it all out. very nice work. And my brother was well impressed with his.
